Services
The better editor leads to the better proposal leads to the better book
One practice, one through-line: take serious nonfiction from a rough idea to a book that agents acquire and readers finish.
LeBien Ink offers a connected set of services for nonfiction authors: developmental editing that reshapes a manuscript, proposal development that gets it sold, a dissertation-to-trade-book path for scholars, ghostwriting and hostwriting for experts short on time, and a curated pipeline that runs the whole thing — idea to finished book — under one roof.
What We Do
Pick the help your book actually needs.

The work we care about most
We're not a general-purpose editing shop, and we don't pretend to be. The books we do our best work on are serious sciences-and-humanities nonfiction — written by scholars and experts who know their subject cold and want it to reach past the seminar room. History, economics, science, ideas: the kind of book where the expertise is real and the challenge is making it land for a wider reader.
That focus is the whole point. Turning rigorous scholarship into a trade book is a developmental problem first, a prose problem second — and a particular one if you're starting from a dissertation. Once the book is sound, the next gate is the proposal, since most nonfiction sells on the pitch, not the finished manuscript. And when the author has the expertise but not the hours, a collaborative team can draft it in your voice. Want all of it managed as one process? That's the curated pipeline.
The better editor knows the shoals and deeps of publishing — across the sciences and the humanities, and across every ambition you might hold for your book.
